*For the purposes of training course requirements, the HPRA has defined ‘grandfather status’ as referring to persons who have been in animal research prior to January 1st 2009 and who have the following special condition in their individual authorisation: “The authorisation holder must complete an accredited animal training course before the end of December 2014”.
Training courses for researchers working with animals are run in Dublin, in Spring and Autumn. Courses also are arranged in Cork and Galway.
